Double chocolate Raspberry Ice cream
This is an amazing flavour of Ice cream I made using an Ice cream maker. The sweetness of the chocolate pairs well with the tartness of raspberries. This ice cream is amazing with both chocolate and berry desserts. It is a delicious, creamy dessert that is going to a must have in your freezer. You can make it without an ice cream maker but it thickens up much better after churning.
Happy Baking!
Servings: 19- 20 oz
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Rest Time: 1.5 hour
Churn Time: 30-40 mins
Ingredients:
1.5 cup Heavy cream
3/4 cup Milk
1/2 cup Cocoa powder
3/4 cups Chocolate chips
1/2 cup Chopped raspberries
1 tsp Vanilla essence
3/4 cup Castor sugar
1 cup Frozen raspberries (Optional)
Directions:
If you are using an ice cream machine, you may need to freeze the bowl for a couple of hours before churning. I froze it for about 24-30 hours.
In a bowl, mix milk & cream
Add the sugar and whisk it well till it dissolves. It might take 2-3 minutes.
Add the vanilla essence
Add the cocoa powder and whisk it together. Make sure there are no lumps.
Add the chocolate chips and raspberries pieces.
Stir it together.
Freeze the mixture for 1.5 hours.
Add to the ice cream maker and churn as per machine instructions. I used Dash Ice cream Maker and it took 35 minutes to churn.
Top with frozen raspberries & serve! My mixed berry jam recipe will taste great as a topping.
Notes/Tips:
Most ice cream machines need the bowl to be frozen for 24 hours before.
Make sure there are no lumps before adding chips or berry pieces.
Do not turn the machine off until the ice cream is ready.
When you see/hear no movement of the liquid in the machine, the ice cream is ready.
Freeze for 30 minutes after taking it out from the machine before serving.
Top if with some frozen raspberries or hot fudge or the strained jam to make it even better!
