I am a huge fan of Spring rolls and a bigger fan on Paneer. SO, i had to combine the 2 together. Chilli paneer in any form is so good and now with a crispy wrapper around it, it is a perfect starter! They are super easy to make & so delicious. I air-fried them but you could bake/fry it. It serves well with a sweet soy sauce! Make them Vegan by replacing paneer with Tofu.
Happy Cooking!

Servings: 3 large rolls

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 8-15 minutes

Total Time:  35 minutes

 Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Paneer chopped in small cubes

  • 1/3 cup Onions finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup Tomato finely chopped

  • 1/3 cup Pepper finely chopped

  • 2 Green chillies finely chopped

  • 1/3 cup Green onions chopped

  • 4 cloves Garlic finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp Chilli sauce

  • 1 tsp Ginger paste

  • 1/2 tsp Vinegar

  • 2 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 tsp Sugar

  • 1 tsp Black pepper

  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil

  • 2 tbsp Water

  • Eggroll/Springroll Wrappers (depends on the size can vary from 3-5 pcs for this recipe)

Directions:

  1. In a pan, heat sesame oil.

  2. Add garlic and green chillies and cook for 2 minutes.

  3. Add onion and cook for 2-3 minutes till they start becoming translucent.

  4. Add the chopped bell pepper and cook for 1 minute.

  5. Add the Green onion and cook for 1 minute.

  6. Add tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes. The tomatoes should start breaking down.

  7. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, ginger paste, vinegar, chilli sauce and water.

  8. Add it to the vegetables and stir it in.

  9. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  10. Add in the salt, sugar & pepper.

  11. Add in the cubed paneer. You can even air fry/pan fry/ pan fry the paneer if you like. Especially if you are using soft paneer.

  12. Mix it all together and cook for 1 minute

  13. Transfer it to a bowl & let it cool.

  14. When cooled, fill the egg roll wrapper with the paneer filling. For a large size, I used about 4-5 tbsp of mixture.

  15. Fold as you wish. I have shown a method on the video.

  16. Fry/ Air fry it as you wish. I air fried these for 10-12 minutes at 350F-360F in a pre heated air fryer. I flipped them over once in between. Fry them around the same temperature till they turn brown and get crispy

  17. Cut at a diagonal and serve. I served it with a sweet soy sauce and garnished with fresh cilantro

Notes/Tips:

  • Replace paneer with extra firm Tofu to make Vegan. Cut the tofu in small cubes and air fry/pan fry and deep fry to make sure it doesn’t m crumble. Air fry 380F for 10-13 mins.

  • Make sure to chop the veggies fine.

  • Make sure the filling is not too liquid so that it does not leak out.

  • Ensure all the edges are sealed well.

  • You can bake these for 15-20 mins at 350F. Brush them with oil and flip them over midway.

  • Fry these on med-high oil till crispy and golden brown.

  • You can make these and store in the freezer for upto 2 weeks.
