Oreo Nutella Truffles
If you love Oreos and Nutella you will absolutely love these 4 ingredients Oreo and Nutella truffles. These truffles are so delicious and are a perfect small treat. They are soft and the crunch from the chocolate shell is so good but it is the finishing sea salt touch that makes it perfect! The sweet and salty flavor in every bite is soo good. You can shape these as circles or as footballs making them perfect for the Super bowl. These truffles are super cute for Valentine’s Day or Date night. The only work these need is shaping & coating the truffles and these will last for days unless you finish them all.
Happy Baking!
Servings: 15-18 pieces
Prep Time: 30-40 mins
Chilling Time: 2 hours +
Total Time: 2-3 hours
Ingredients:
32-36 oreos
3/4-1 cup Nutella
About 1.5 cups Dark chocolate candy melts/coating candy
About 1/4 cup White chocolate candy melts/coating candy (optional)
1-2 tbsp flaky sea salt
Directions:
Prepare a baking tray by lining it with parchment paper.
In a food processor add the Oreos and 3/4th cup of Nutella. Pulse together till it comes together to form a mixture that is soft but still holds it shape. If you need to add more Nutella to make it softer add 1 tbsp more at a time.
Be sure to scrape the edges of the processor to get a uniform mixture. I like to keep some of the oreo pieces a little bigger for a little bite.
Use a scooper to make individual truffles. I used a 1 tbsp scoop.
Use your hand to shape it as you want. You can shape it into circles or hearts or as a football (American football).
Transfer each shaped truffle onto the lined baking tray.
Freeze for 1-2 hours.
When the truffles are frozen and set, start melting the chocolate.
In separate bowls, melt the dark and white candy melts.
Using a fork dip the frozen truffles in the dark chocolate to coat them. Coat them and transfer them to the lined baking tray.
If you are not doing any decoration with the white chocolate, sprinkle flaky sea salt on the dark chocolate while it’s still soft.
If you are using white chocolate, make the decorations over it and sprinkle sea salt on it. I used a piping bag to pipe the stitches on the football.
Let it set in the freezer for 15-20 mins.
Take it out of the freezer and thaw for 5-7 mins and then serve.
I like serving it cool but not frozen.
Notes/Tips:
These truffles last well in the freezer for 1-2 months. Make sure you thaw them well before serving.
Do NOT skip the sea salt- it helps cut down the sweetness!
Wear gloves while shaping them to avoid messy hands.
I used the original Oreos.
Since I shaped them like footballs, I colored some shredded coconut green and sat the truffles on it to give it a grass feel.
I use candy melts/coating chocolate to make it easier. You can use temperated chocolate to coat the truffles.
