Healthier Everything Bagel Yogurt Chili Dip

Dips are a perfect appetizer for parties or for an evening snack, so I wanted to share one that’s healthier and high in protein. This is a 3 ingredient dip, all you need is Greek yogurt, everything but bagel seasoning, and a chili crunch! It’s a cold dip which is even more perfect for summers. The chili crunch adds heat and flavor to the base and balances it so well. And it’s not a lot of oil, about 3 tbsp for 10 servings, so much less than any other dip. I like to use non-fat Greek yogurt to reduce the calories. It is so easy to make, especially if you have a store-bought chili crunch, anyone can make it! Serve it with your favorite chips or crackers or my favorite, mini bagel crisps.

Ingredients: 

Chili Crunch:

  • 2 tsp minced onions

  • 2 tsp minced garlic

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder (for color)

  • 1.5-2 tsp tbsp Red chili flakes

  • 1 tsp Gochugaru or ghost pepper flakes

  • 1/4 cup neutral oil

Assembly:

  • 18-20 oz greek yogurt, I used non-fat Greek yogurt or hung yogurt

  • 3-4 tbsp everything but bagel seasoning

Directions: 

  1. Chili crunch: In a heat-proof bowl add minced onions, minced garlic, sea salt, red chili powder, Red chili flakes, and. Gochugaru.

  2. Heat up the oil till it’s hot enough to sizzle.

  3. Pour the oil over the ingredients in the heat-safe bowl.

  4. Give it a mix and let it cool.

  5. Once cooled, it’s ready to use.

  6. Assembly: In a bowl add greek yogurt and everything bagel seasoning and mix.

  7. Using the back of the spoon, make a swirl on the top of the greek yogurt.

  8. Put about 2-3 tbsp of the cooled chili crunch on the swirl.

  9. Cover and let it chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours

  10. Take it out and it’s ready to serve!

  11. Serve with your favorite chips and crackers, I love serving these with mini bagel crisps.

Notes/Tips:

  • You can store the chili crunch in an airtight container in the fridge. It lasts for 2-3 months. Stir before using.

  • The dip lasts well in the fridge for 2-3 days. You may want to add more chili crunch on top before reusing.

  • Using nonfat greek yogurt helps to reduce the calories in this dip.

  • You can even put this combination on toast and enjoy.

  • If you can’t find everything but bagel seasoning in stores, here’s a recipe to make it at home.

  • Ideally, set it in the fridge overnight. I have even made it 15-30 mins before and served it but I prefer it once it sets well.
