Fudge Protein Balls

Fudgy Chocolate Protein Balls is a delicious low-calorie protein treat! This is a recipe I developed for my brother. He is a chocolate lover but very dedicated to his fitness so this was my way of keeping him happy! It is a one-bowl recipe and barely takes any work which makes it much easier. The protein balls are extremely fudgy and you get almost 5g of protein per ball (depending on the protein powder you use) and it’s about 60 calories. The ingredients are all extremely healthy and nutritious for you. This is a great post/pre-workout snack. It is a completely plant-based dessert (depending on the protein powder you use). A great no-guilty dessert to try out to satisfy your sugar cravings!

Happy Baking!

Total Time: 2 hours

  • 1/2 cup Almond/peanut butter

  • 1/4 cup Flax meal

  3. Add water and mix till it comes together as a lump. Add 1/3 cup of water first and then 2 tbsp at a time till it comes together.

  4. Cover bowl with a cling wrap and chill in the fridge for 1-2 hours.

  5. Scoop and form into balls by rolling them into a ball using your hands.

  6. They are ready. Store in an airtight container and enjoy!

Notes/Tips:

  • I used a fudge chocolate protein powder. The more chocolate it is, it more chocolate flavor in the protein balls.

  • I used chunky almond butter. Use good quality nut butter. It makes all the difference in the end product.

  • If you don’t have flax meal, bring up flax seeds to a fine powder.

  • If you don’t have coconut sugar you can use maple syrup or honey.

  • You can add chopped nuts if you want.

  • You can drizzle on some melted chocolate if you like.

  • Skip almond flour if you don’t have it. It adds a great flavor.
