Cheesy Aloo Tikki Sliders

Cheesy Aloo Tikki Sliders are delicious easy oven-baked sliders that are full of flavor, so cheesy and give a fun twist to Indian-style Aloo Tikki buns. The sliders are layered with sauces- a creamy coriander one and tamarind chutney, along with shredded slaw and onions for crunch, aloo tikkis for the body, and melted cheese making it a perfect bite. To take these sliders to the next level they are baked in the oven with a butter mixture poured over it which has seasonings and spices which soak into the buns and add this amazing flavor to the sliders. It’s an explosion of flavors and textures from the first to the last bite. I love making these sliders when I have guests over because it’s easy to make and cook in the oven and they’re so yummy that they are always wiped clean. You can use store-bought, frozen or homemade aloo Tikki for this recipe. It comes together in an hour and you won’t be able to stop with just one slider, I assure you that! Perfect for get-togethers, the holiday season, movie night, or game day!!

    3. On the top half of the buns spread tamarind chutney.

    4. Top the bottom layer with the shredded slaw mixture.

    5. Layer the cheddar cheese slices over it.

    6. Top with the cooked aloo Tikki over the cheese so that one is over each bun.

    7. Layer the pepper jack cheese slices over it.

    8. Top with sliced onions over the cheese slices.

    9. Sandwich the slider buns close over the cheese slices.

    10. Using a toothpick poke holes in the top of the slider buns. be sure to get all the buns all over.

    11. Butter mixture- Melt butter and mix chili flakes, kalonji, chaat masala, and tamarind chutney.

    12. Pour the butter mixture over the buns and spread it all over.

  5. Cover the buns with foil and bake for 20-25 mins at 375F.

  6. Let it rest for 3-5 mins once out of the oven.

  7. Remove the foil, cut, and serve.

  8. You can serve these with any condiments you like, eg ketchup, spicy Maggi sauce, and coriander chutney. It’s not needed as these are saucy themselves but nice to have.

Notes/Tips:

  • Use savory slider buns. Sweet buns can make this recipe too sweet.

  • I used Nanak foods frozen Aloo Tikkis for this recipe. You can use your favorite or make them at home.

  • You can use mozzarella cheese slices if you want.

  • Do NOT forget to poke the holes in the slider buns.

  • Covering with foil is a must.
