Pizza Sliders

Who doesn’t love sliders and pizza so let’s just combine the two to make something delicious!! Soft slider buns layered with pesto, pizza sauce, basil leaves, melted mozzarella cheese, and veggies all baked with garlic butter making it an absolute treat. They’re saucy, cheesy, buttery, and got so much flavor. These sliders are really easy to make, you can use store-bought sauces to make life easier. They are perfect for summer days and especially outdoor get-togethers.

Happy Cooking!

Servings: 6 sliders

Prep Time: 15-20 mins

Cooking Time: 30 mins

Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 6 slider buns- I used savory butter; not sweet slider buns!

  • 1.5-2 tbsp basil pesto

  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce

  • 3.5-4 mozzarella cheese cut into thin slices

  • 6 basil leaves

  • 1/4 red Onion cut in semi-circles

  • 1/3 green bell Peppers cut in semi-circles

  • 2-3 tbsp garlic butter, melted

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 365F.

  2. Slice slider buns horizontally.

  3. On a parchment-lined baking tray, layer the base of the slider buns.

  4. Layer and spread basil pesto on the base of the slider buns.

  5. Top and spread pizza sauce over it.

  6. Place a basil leaf over each bun followed by mozzarella cheese, sliced onions, and peppers.

  7. Place the top of the slider buns over it and press down slightly.

  8. Use a toothpick and poke holes over the top of the buns.

  9. Pour and spread melted garlic butter over the buns.

  10. Cover with foil and make sure it’s covered from all sides.

  11. Bake at 365F for 20-35 mins.

  12. Once out of the oven, take the foil out and let it cool for 2-3 mins.

  13. They are ready! Serve warm and enjoy the cheese pulls.

Notes/Tips:

  • Add more veggies to it if you want. I felt just onions and peppers tasted great but you can be as creative as you like.

  • Basil leaves help to add freshness to it.

  • You can use store-bought sauces or homemade. I recommend homemade, they are linked in the recipe above.

  • Do not forget to poke holes in the slider buns.

  • Covering with foil is a must.

  • Garlic butter helps to add a great flavor so don’t skip that!

  • If you want to airfry them, airfry at 350F for 12-18 mins. You don’t want to get crispy.
