Nutella cheesecake filled buns

A delicious butter bun filled with with a Nutella cheesecake filling topped with a berry glaze and nuts. It’s one of the easiest desserts you’ll ever make and it’s absolutely delicious. The chewiness from the buns, creaminess from the filling, sweetness from the glaze and bite from the nuts are a match made in heaven. They are perfect for get togethers and a perfect dessert for game day! They are eggless (depending on the bread you use) and everyone loves them. You will not be able to stop at just one, trust me!! Also you can prep it from before and keep so a time saver as well.
Happy Baking!

Servings: 12 buns

Prep Time: 20 mins

Cooking Time: 25-30 mins

Total Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of 12 sweet Butter rolls- I used Hawaiian king rolls

  • 1.5 tbsp butter

  • 1/4 cup cranberry/strawberry sauce

  • 3 tbsp sugar

  • 6 oz softened cream cheese

  • 1/3 cup nutella

  • 1/3-1/2 cup lightly roasted chopped walnuts/ pecans/ hazelnuts/ almonds

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.

  2. Separate the buns from each other (if they’re attached).

  3. Wear a glove and poke a hole into the side of each bun using your finger. Hollow it enough for the filling. Keep aside.

  4. In a bowl add the softened cream cheese and Nutella. Mix it together till combined. Transfer it to a piping bag.

  5. Fill the hollows of the buns with the cream cheese filling.

  6. Place the buns sticking to each other on a lined baking tray. Using a toothpick poke holes over the top.

  7. In a bowl add the cranberry sauce and butter and melt in the microwave or stovetop. When the butter is melted , take if off the stove. Add the sugar and mix.

  8. Pour the mixture over all the buns and spread it out.

  9. Cover with foil and bake for 15 mins.

  10. Remove the foil and sprinkle the top with chopped nuts.

  11. Bake at 350F for 15 mins.

  12. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes/Tips:

  • When you hollow out the center make sure it’s wide enough so there is enough space for filling.

  • When filling in the cheesecake in the buns squeeze enough till a little comes out. This means there is enough filling and the part that comes out helps to sticks the buns to each other.

  • Make sure you poke holes before pouring the sauce mixture over it.

  • This is best served warm. The filling is warm and the sauce is a beautiful glaze on top.

  • Using a glove is for sanitary and hygiene purposes.

  • The nuts give a bite to it so don’t skip it.

  • Prep from before-

    • Make the follows in the buns but keep it in an airtight container.

    • Make the filling and keep.

    • You can make the glaze from before, just heat it before pouring it over the buns.

  • If you need to reheat, brush some butter over it and reheat.
