Nimki/Namak para Chaat

Nimki/Namak para Chaat is a delicious chaat that is very easy to make. This is something i have had growing up all the time as it is one of my fathers go to evening snacks. It has a sweet, tangy taste with a spicy kick and is very different from regular chaats. It has a great bite which is crispy in every bite. The addition of peas makes this chaat stand out and it tastes amazing. It takes 5 min to make & is a great dish to make with meals or as a snack that is loved by all. It is also a great dish to whip up for guests, especially last minute ones. A great dish for the festive season as well. This chaat is also Vegan.

Happy Cooking!

  7. Mix it all together till it the chutney is mixed and coated all the ingredients.

  8. Add the 1/2 cup of bhujiya and mix it in.

  9. Garnish with the 2-3 tbsp of bhujiya and cilantro levels.

  10. Serve immediately so that it does not get soggy.

Notes/Tips:

  • The potatoes and peas should be well cooked throughout.

  • The tamarind chutney should be liquid enough so that it can coat all the ingredients. If it gets too diluted you may need to ad more as per taste.

  • User smaller nimkis/namak paras is ideal because it just tastes better when the chutney coats it. It also is better as a bite. If you do not have smaller ones like i did, break big ones in half.

  • You can swap bhujiya for sev if you like or use half and half. Bhujiya gives it a bite & adds a spicy taste which is better for this dish.

  • Skip chilis if you do not like spice or for children Add 1-2 more chilis if you like it spicy. Make sure it is finely chopped well.
