Desi Burger Wrap

I love any food you can wrap and then adding burger to the mix makes it so much better. This is a wrap inspired by indian burgers, using the flavors and additions in the burger and obviously the patty! This roll has got so many flavors from coriander chutney, Maggi sauce, pickled onions and the fan favorite indian burger patty. I add a little sprinkle of bhujiya to it which really adds a crunch and makes it so fun! This is a delicious weekday recipe which is really easy to put together and can be made with all ready items but you can also choose to make a homemade burger patty. This is even kid friendly, just manage the amount of spice you would like to add to it. This recipe is also one of our favorite travel foods to keep on us especially on road trips! Serve it with you favourite burger sides like fries or chips and enjoy!

Happy Cooking!

Servings: 4 rolls

Prep Time: 20 mins

Cooking Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1.5 hours

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium to large flour tortillas

  • 4 burger patties, check notes for options I like.

  • 4 slices of cheese singles

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 -1/3 cup coriander chutney

  • 1/4-1/3 cup Maggi sauce, use spicy if you like.

  • 2/3-3/4 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1/3 cup pickled onions, check notes to see how I make them.

  • 1 small tomatoes cut in tiny pieces, optional

  • 2 tbsp chili paste, optional

  • 1-2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup bhujiya, optional

Directions:

  1. Prepare burger patties as per package instructions. I like to air fry mine so they are crispy. Cut the patty into 4-6 pieces. Check notes.

  2. On a warm griddle place a tortilla. Let one side cook till it warms up and flip it over. Tear a slice into half and place it on the tortilla along with some shredded cheese. Cover the tortilla with a lid and let the cheese melt.

  3. Once the cheese melts start assembling the rolls.

    • Spread some coriander chutney and maggi sauce over the tortilla.

    • Top with shredded lettuce in the middle lengthwise.

    • Place burger patty pieces over the lettuce.

    • Spread chili sauce over the patties if you want.

    • Top it with chopped tomatoes and pickled onions.

    • Drizzle mayonnaise over it.

    • Sprinkle bhujiya over it.

    • Roll it into a wrap.

  4. Cut and serve with your favorite condiments and sides.

Notes/Tips:

  • Burger Patty- You can use store bought burger patties or homemade. For homemade patties, the recipe is here. Make sure you coat them with breadcrumbs so its crispy. If you want to use sore bought patties I like to use Deep kitchen masala or spicy burger patties. I airfry the patties to get them crispy. The crispy patty gives it a nice bite!

  • Pickled onions- I make my pickled onions like this. The recipe is here- in the caption of the video.

  • I use the Bomba sauce from Trader Joes as the spicy paste.

  • If you want add coleslaw to the wrap.

  • Make it as cheesy as you like. If you want it cheesier, use two slices of cheese per wrap. I like using one slice cheese and some grated cheese for the difference in flavors.
