Cheesy Fig Flatbread

A delicious recipe for a crispy flatbread using Crumbled Blue Cheese with fig jam, peppers, arugula, and spicy honey.

A delicious recipe for a crispy flatbread topped with blue cheese crumbles, fig jam, peppers, arugula and spicy honey. The fig jam is so good with blue cheese you’ll be surprised. I was always skeptical about cooking with figs and blue cheese and now my only regret is that I didn’t try it sooner. The crispy flatbread paired the creamy blue cheese makes it a delicious app! It’s great to keep for snacking while watching any game! If you’re skeptical about adding blue cheese to your recipe, you have to try Blue Cheese, you wont regret it!

Servings: 3-4 servings

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Baking Time: 15-20 minutes

Total Time: 30 mins

Ingredients: 

  • 30 oz flatbread/pizza dough

  • 5 oz blue cheese crumbles

  • 3-4 tbsp fig jam

  • 1/2 red bell pepper in thin slices

  • 2-3 garlic cloves thinly slices

  • 2 tbsp olive oil - if you have chili olive oil

  • 2 oz arugula/rocket leaves

  • 2 tsp chili flakes

  • 2 tbsp honey

Directions: 

  1. Preheat the oven to the temperature mentioned on the dough packet, mine said 370F.

  2. On a lightly floured parchment paper, roll out the dough very thin.

  3. Transfer to a baking tray and dock the dough using a fork.

  4. Sprinkle blue cheese crumbles over the dough.

  5. Spoon fig jam in between spaces.

  6. Top with red peppers and garlic.

  7. Drizzle olive oil over it.

  8. Bake according to dough instructions, till the dough is crispy.

  9. Mix honey and chili flakes together and keep aside.

  10. Once out of the oven top with arugula and drizzle honey over it.

  11. Cut as you wish and serve immediately!

Notes/Tips:

  • Be sure to dock the flatbread to prevent air bubbles.

  • Don’t skip the fig jam, it pairs well with the blue cheese.

  • You can use regular honey if you want to skip the chill honey.

  • Serve it warm!
