These are flaky puff patty twists layered with pizza sauce and masala cheese and veggies. So easy to make this recipe is a no brainer and everyone lovessss it! I mean it’s literally wiped clean as it comes out the oven. The flavors and textures work so well with each other that it’s a must try. Kids and adults alike love this recipe. You can literally freeze these and keep and just pop it in the oven when ready to eat. Hope you love them as much as my friends and family does.

Happy Cooking! ♥️

Servings: 7-9 twists

Prep Time: 15-20 mins

Cooking Time: 20 mins

Total Time: 35-40 mins

Ingredients:

  • 2-3.5 tbsp pizza sauce

  • 1 sheet puff pastry

  • 1/2-3/4 cup shredded cheese- I used a mixture of Amul and low moisture mozzarella cheese

  • 1/3 cup red onion chopped

  • 1/4 cup bell pepper chopped

  • 1 tsp Chilli flakes

  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala

  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder

  • 1/4 tsp dried Oregano

Topping:

  • 2-3 tbsp Milk

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 1/4-1/2 tsp dried oregano

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400F. Prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl add the cheese, onions, bell peppers, chili flakes, garam masala, cumin powder and oregano. Mix it together.

  3. On a lightly floured surface roll out the puff pastry sheet to 1/6 inch thick.

  4. Using a pizza cutter (easier than a knife) cut the sheet in half horizontally.

  5. Spread out pizza sauce on one half of the sheet. Top it with the cheese mixture.

  6. Top the cheese with the other half of the sheet. Press down using your hands to stick it. Using your fingers press down edges slightly if you want.

  7. Keep the lined tray near you for the next step.

  8. Slice the puff pastry into strips vertically (I don’t like keeping it too thick. About 1/2-3/4 inch).

  9. Carefully place the strips on a tray keeping some distance from each other.

  10. Holding both layers twist each strip. If some of the mixture comes out don’t worry you can tuck it inside.

  11. Mix salt and milk and brush it over the twists. Sprinkle oregano over the twists.

  12. Bake at 400F for 16-20 mins till browned and crispy.

Notes/Tips:

  • You can use any pizza sauce you like as long as it’s thicker. I like to use my homemade one. It makes it SO SO much better. If you use store bought you may need to cook it down to get the desired consistency.

  • Using a mix of cheese helps give it a better flavor. You can use a cheddar as well.

  • Freeze these in ziplocks and keep for future. Freeze them directly without thawing. It may take 3-5 more in the oven.

  • You can even add corn in the cheese mixture.
