Best Homemade Queso

Queso is a side dish or condiment made of melted cheese that is popular in Mexican cuisine. So I had queso in my travels, (it wasn’t very popular in India) , but how I lovedddd getting it every time. When I moved to the states I starting making Queso for my father in law because he is as big a fan as I am. His dinner sometimes is literally queso and chips. This recipe is so easy and with minimal ingredients but you will always get a thick cheesy sauce that you will want to take a dip in (I am not kidding). Made in one pan this queso is ready in maximum 20 mins! This is amazing with chips or with any kind of mexican dish be it burritos or chimichangas or tacos. Trust me try this recipe and it will change your mexican meals!

Notes/Tips:

  • Use a whisk! You will have lumps otherwise.

  • Be quick when you add corn starch to avoid lumps.

  • Add more or less milk to change the consistency.

  • You can store it for 3-4 days in the fridge in an airtight container.

  • It will thicken when cool. Reheat and add milk as needed.

  • Top with some chopped jalapeños for spice.
